Your home electric water heater is always plugged in or open when used?

Many partners for their own home electric water heater, have a question: perennial power heating good, or use before the power is good? I once asked this question to install electric water heater master, he said "more people all year round power." So many years, I also personally experienced some, found that has been plugged in electricity and use before plugging in electricity, the main difference between the four.

Power consumption

Things related to the wallet, no one will not care. Some people go to unplug in order to save electricity, I'm sorry to tell you: actually not very useful.

In fact, there is no need to test, on the Chinese energy efficiency label of the electric water heater, it is already written very clear.

Q = capacity * 0.015 + 0.8.

The capacity of the above electric water heater is 50L, so its Q is 50 * 0.015 + 0.8 = 1.55. 24 hours of insulation power consumption is 1.55 * 0.6 = 0.93kwh, that is, less than a degree of electricity. Continuous insulation for a month, power consumption is about 30 degrees.

Of course it depends on how to say, if the electric water heater is normal use, a month to spend more than ten dollars does not seem so difficult to accept. But if it is long-term idle, this part of the money is a pure waste.

Hot water

Should I turn on the electricity when I take a shower? Or rather, what is the benefit of plugging in the bath? I think it is the amount of hot water!

While heating a bath, the final amount of hot water will definitely be more. As for how much more, it depends on the power of the electric water heater.

Let's take the power of 3kw electric water heater as an example and simply calculate.

3kw electric water heater, working for 30 minutes, the heat generated is 5400000J.

1L of water to warm up 1 ℃, the heat required is 4200J.

If the capacity of this water heater is 50L, and all the water inside it is heated up by 1℃, the heat required is 210,000J.

This electric water heater continues to work for 30 minutes and can make the water temperature rise by 25.7℃.

The initial temperature of the water is generally about 20 ℃, continuous heating for 30 minutes, equivalent to the water heater doubled the amount of water. Of course in actual use, the water heater does not heat up as fast. However, you can still get more hot water compared to a power-off bath.

Convenience

Many people do not care, "I prefer to power the water heater all year round". These people, just for convenience.

On the one hand, there is no need to unplug the electric water heater frequently. This is not only to save time, but also to hide the socket during installation, so that the overall appearance of the water heater looks better.

On the other hand, every time you want to take a shower you can just go ahead and not have to wait for hot water to boil. "24 hours of hot water" is no longer a dream, either.

Safety

Having said that, it seems that there is nothing wrong with having electricity on all year round - except that you have to pay a little more for electricity. So all electric water heaters can be powered all year round? Not necessarily!

To electrify an electric water heater year-round, the following conditions must be met.

. The quality of the electric water heater itself, some electric water heater itself is not designed in accordance with the power bath, naturally also need to be disconnected. The electric water heater that needs to be disconnected will generally have a warning sign on the surface.

. The circuitry in the home must pass, and there must be a ground in the outlet. Not only should there be, and is connected (in some places the ground is just for show). This, it is best to test the phase meter before installing the electric water heater (there are some brands of electric water heaters, there will be after-sales staff to help test before installation).

. The quality of the wiring in the home must pass, the packaging wire is not aging, the wire diameter is sufficient. Carrying capacity and flame retardant rate, are in line with national standards. There must be a leakage protector in the circuit - refers to the leakage protection switch in the distribution box. Some people will install a leakage protection on the plug or socket of the electric water heater, this is not necessary, and even if installed, it can not replace the leakage switch.
