shell materials of electric water heaters: cold-rolled steel or plastic？

There are generally two kinds of shell materials for electric water heaters: cold-rolled steel and plastic. Cold-rolled steel has high strength, good load-bearing, strong and durable; 

Plastic, on the other hand, has anti-corrosion and anti-rust properties.

The main reasons for choosing ABS material instead of cold-rolled steel include:

1. Cost consideration: Compared with cold-rolled steel, ABS plastic is cheaper in raw materials and processing costs. This allows the production cost of small kitchen treasures to be

    reduced, so that they can be sold at a more competitive price and improve market acceptance.

2. Lightness: The density of ABS plastic is lower than that of steel, so the use of ABS plastic to make a shell can significantly reduce the overall weight of small kitchen treasure, easy 

   to install and move, but also reduce transportation and storage costs.

3. Processing performance: ABS plastic has excellent processing performance, and can easily manufacture complex shapes through injection molding and other methods, which is 

    very beneficial to improve the freedom of product design and appearance quality. In contrast, cold-rolled steel is difficult and costly to process.

4. Insulation performance: As an excellent electrical insulation material, ABS plastic can effectively prevent leakage accidents, thereby improving the safety of use. While metal materials

   can be insulated, additional measures add cost and complexity.

    In summary, although cold-rolled steel may be better than ABS plastic in some aspects (such as strength and corrosion resistance), ABS plastic becomes a more suitable choice for 

small kitchen treasure shell after considering factors such as cost, weight, processing performance and insulation performance.

Conventional water storage electric water heaters usually use cold-rolled steel plates as shell materials, which are characterized by high strength, strong load-bearing capacity and 

durability. For large volume, large weight electric water heaters of 30-100 liters or even 500 liters, a hard and durable housing is essential, and cold-rolled steel just meets this requirement.
